Our Horse Program -
Horseback Riding Lessons and Trail Rides
The Telemark Inn is home to a small herd of quality, well trained and mannered horses. Two Morgan Mares, a gorgeous Morgan Stallion that we breed and show, a Hackney pony, a 2 year old Welch Cob Hackney Cross in training, and a new born baby Morgan/Hackney Cross foal! Our older horses are versatile – riding both English and Western and also driving. Our horses are trained in dressage, so they are responsive and fun to ride.
We offer private riding lessons in both English and Western. Much of our teaching is done out on the trails as well as around the lodge’s property. Our teaching focuses on training riders to be functional, both on the back of a horse and on the ground (our students groom and tack up their own horses). Understanding a horse’s actions and thought processes and how they respond to what we do with them, is all part of learning how to ride…we call it dropping into the mind of horse.
We take many of our younger students to compete in local Gymkhana (Western Games) to have fun with their new skills on horseback.
We also offer trail rides within this very scenic area for experienced riders.
Pricing - $75 per hour 1-1/2 hour trail ride and lesson

8 lessons for $45 each
