Dogville, (Sled Dogs and Sled Dog Training) -
Learning about the beauty, depth and true commitment of these athletic creatures, Alaskan Huskies and Crosses, bred for endurance, speed, and friendliness, raised in an environment trust and love, which shows in their eyes and the way they greet and interact with you. Our dogs are affectionate, and sweet in demeanor.
Learn through being involved with the process of kennel care, grooming, playing with, and the various training and conditioning styles varying on the different seasons.

Learn the process of garden development, creating the foundation of good soil from humus,, the planting of vegetables, helping to cultivate, and harvest, then help prepare and enjoy in our meals! Hiking - This section of Western Maine and New Hampshire is well know for it’s variety of spectacular mountainside trails. We try and design our hikes to include scenic interests such as active Beaver dams, vistas and mountain tops offering exceptional views of this mountain landscape, along with summertime hikes to Swim Holes and waterfalls. You can also learn about the flora and fauna along the way if you wish too..

 

Canoeing Outings on the Androscoggin River and Umbagog Lake National Wildlife Sanctuary - These are flat water trips for novice paddles thru advanced… offering spectacular scenery along with frequent wildlife observations of Bald Eagles, Moose, Deer, Loons, Ospreys, and all sorts of bird life along the way… Beautiful trips!
Catch and Release fishing available on specific outings.

Llama Trekking and Care - Hike your own friendly furry fella down quiet scenic forest trails to
private swim holes and active Beaver dams. Learn about the unique nature of these ancient pre-Inca domestics while participating in grooming,packingand handling.

 

Horses and Horseback Riding - Horse 101 for all ages,  Learn basics of grooming , handling and
interrelating with our friendly well trained Morgan horses and ponies. Riding is done on a lead line for beginners on the grounds around the lodge and down our country lane.  A great introduction to Horses! Lessons and Trail Riding also available.

Hummingbird Haven- Hummingbird Ecology -Close Contact,
Learn about through direct experience the fascinating natures of these captivating and mesmerizing athletic aerial marvels. Not only the facts such as they beat their wings at around 70 beats per second, or that they migrate over 4,000 miles twice yearly with pin point accuracy, but by getting close and intimate, you will experience the "power” of this tiny and seemingly fragile smallest member of the bird family. For eighteen years this hummingbird population, has been nurtured and developed, and currently an amazing number of hummers live and breed in the immediate area of the lodge..
